They serve every segment of the community-young and old, rich and poor, college graduates and high school dropouts. Public libraries in Connecticut are free: there are no admission requirements and no admission fees. Libraries serve individuals, families and the business community. They foster both economic and personal development in the areas they serve. Libraries provide books, magazines , databases, audio and video materials, computer access-and trained librarians to facilitate their use.
